"FORMAS E GRAFISMOS", EXHIBITION AT THE LVI FERIA DEL COCIDO BRINGS TOGETHER FOURTEEN LARGE FORMAT PIECES BY SOLEDAD PENALTA.

The exhibition will be inaugurated on Friday 19 February at 8 p.m. in the Ramón Mª Aller Municipal Museum.

"Formas e grafismos", Soledad Penalta's exhibition project will be the central exhibition of the LVI Feria del Cocido, which will be inaugurated next Friday, 19 February, at 8 p.m. in the Ramón Mª Aller Municipal Museum. An exhibition with a strong personal stamp, promoted by the Lalín City Council and curated by Cecilia Doporto Regueira, by José Luis Rey and by Penalta herself.

It is a representative sample of the work of this sculptor from Lalín, arising from the thoughts and emotions of this artist with a great creative personality, which brings together 14 large-format pieces linked to other compositional elements (introspective texts, quotes, poetry...) and which can be seen at the Municipal Museum until 5 April, trying to humanise her works. She gives warmth to the materials with her texts, writing "in the pieces, my thoughts, sometimes poetry and sometimes I reflect something I like about someone else", she explains.

Soledad Penalta is one of the sculptural values of reference in contemporary Galician plastic art with more than fifty years of creations to her credit. A member of the Royal Academy of Fine Arts, winner of the Galician Culture Prize and Critics' Prize, Penalta expresses her feelings through sculpture with a personal stamp: she creates works that humanise materials, endowing them with movement and strength. She maintains a deep connection with Lalín and is a regular participant in the Cocido de las Artes in the EmporcARTE exhibition. "My work tries to communicate. I don't just think about making a form, but about expressing references", she pointed out.

She is also one of the women artists of her generation who works in public works, with pieces in which she uses heavy materials such as Corten steel, bronze or iron, as well as having an extensive production of private works, both nationally and internationally.
