The deadline to register for this first edition of free participation closed on 10 January, with nearly 50 confirmations registered at the Museum.

The Councillor for Culture, Begoña Blanco, presents the poster for the emporcARTE collective exhibition, which will open on 14 February at 1 p.m. at the Ramón María Aller Ulloa Museum. This exhibition is the 14th edition of this project, which includes the traditional Offering to the Pig, accompanied by Plácido Rozas, and the Cocido de las Artes (Arts Stew).

The poster was designed by Paío. It is a digital montage featuring Monique van Steen's work ‘Emporquémonos’, exhibited at the 4th emporcARTE, an image that already appeared on the 2015 poster, also coinciding with 14th February. Paío wanted to use the slogan ‘Se lo diga con Grelos’ (Say it with Grelos), as the opening of the exhibition coincided with Valentine's Day.

As for the participation of artists, around 50 names have already been confirmed, including regular contributors to the event, with extensive experience and recognition in the current art scene, along with people participating in the exhibition for the first time, new artists or local artists who will be exhibiting at emporcARTE for the first time.

It should be noted that this year, for the first time, the exhibition is open to the public. Those who have expressed an interest in participating must bring their work to the museum by 10th February at the latest. The theme must be related in some way to the Cocido Fair, understood in a broad and creative sense.

The works will be exhibited at emporcARTE-Lalín 2026 on Carnival Saturday and will be on display until 18th April, coinciding with ‘Antón Sobral: el silencio de la mar’ (Antón Sobral: the silence of the sea), the main exhibition of the 58th Cocido Fair, which will be open until 28th March.

The emporcARTE is sure to stand out for its variety of styles, techniques and formats. The Museum has already begun to receive the first works, which already reflect this diversity, with paintings on canvas, photography, sculpture and mixed media, all related to the Cocido Fair and some of them featuring pigs as the main subject, with no limits to the capacity and ingenuity of the artists to continue reinterpreting the king of cocido.

The exhibition will be presided over by Barreiro's colourful canvas, which he created for the poster of the 58th Cocido Fair, and will be accompanied by new creations from the fantastic cast of poster artists of the Cocido Fair.

The exhibition will be open until 18 April, with the decision to extend its duration due to the great interest the project has generated among the public, being of great interest to both visitors and educational centres.

The list of artists has now been finalised and will be announced on 10 February, but it is still possible to sign up for the Cocido de las Artes, a lunch for artists, gallery owners and people from the world of culture to get together. Those interested can sign up at the Ramón Mª Aller Museum, in person, by telephone or by email (Modesto restaurant, 35 euros).

It should be noted that participation in emporcARTE is unpaid, but includes a certificate, publicity on municipal channels and inclusion in the exhibition's digital catalogue. The full terms and conditions of the call for entries will be available on the Lalín Town Council website.
