The Councillor for Culture, Begoña Blanco, emphasises that ‘this is one of the editions with the highest participation and highlights the stylistic variety of the works’.
A total of sixty artists will take part in the 14th EmporcARTE, which opens next Saturday, 14 February, at 1 pm at the Ramón Mª Aller Municipal Museum. The Councillor for Culture, Begoña Blanco, points out that ‘this is one of the editions with the highest participation and highlights the stylistic variety, techniques and formats of the works’. It should be noted that this is the first time the exhibition has been open to the public.
There are sculptures, paintings, engravings, drawings, mixed media, photographs, and a wide variety of formats and styles. Among the participating artists are regulars at the event, with extensive experience and recognition in the contemporary art world, along with people participating in the exhibition for the first time, new artists, and local artists who will be exhibiting at EmporcARTE for the first time.
The exhibition will be presided over by Barreiro's colourful canvas, which he created for the poster of the 58th Cocido Fair, and will be accompanied by new creations from the fantastic cast of poster artists of the Cocido Fair.
The exhibition will be open until 18 April, with a decision to extend its duration due to the great interest the project has generated among the public, being of great interest to both visitors and educational centres.
It should be noted that participation in emporcARTE is unpaid, but includes a certificate, publicity on municipal channels and inclusion in the exhibition's digital catalogue. The full terms and conditions of the call for entries will be available on the Lalín Town Council website.
Following the opening of EmporcARTE, the traditional offering of turnip greens to the Pig will take place at 2 pm on Colón Street, led by bagpiper Plácido Rozas, followed by the Cocido de las Artes (Arts Stew), which will be attended by nearly a hundred artists and for which capacity is already full.
