THE DEADLINE FOR SUBMITTING APPLICATIONS FOR COLLABORATION TO THE COOKING MONTH QUALITY COMMITMENT IS OPEN UNTIL 30 DECEMBER.

The Councillor for Tourism encourages participation given the synergies that are created for the socio-economic and business fabric based on the extraordinary diffusion that the Feria del Cocido currently enjoys.

There will be a maximum of 100 spaces for collaborators and the minimum subsidy will be 100 euros, although a higher subsidy may be offered, a criterion that will prevail in the selection of collaborators. The 100 offers offering the highest subsidy will be selected and will be placed from highest to lowest on the posters.

The documentation must be submitted in a sealed envelope to the Town Hall Registry.

The Councillor for Tourism, Avelino Souto Rozados, announces that ‘the application period is open for proposals for business collaboration to participate in the quality commitment of the Month of Cocido during the 57th Fair, which may be submitted until 30 December’.

Souto Rozados encourages participation ‘given the beneficial synergies that are created for the socio-economic and business fabric based on the extraordinary diffusion that the Cocido Fair currently enjoys’. He recalls that the Fair was declared a Festival of Tourist Interest in Galicia in 1999, a Festival of National Tourist Interest in 2010 and in 2020 it reached the highest distinction: Festival of International Tourist Interest, becoming the first gastronomic event to obtain this maximum recognition.

The councillor remarks that ‘through the conclusion of public-private agreements, the aim is to optimise and improve the resources available for the staging of this event’. ‘The aim is to promote the expansion of cultural funding resources, with new formulas for collaboration, since this event is a determining factor for the economic and social development of the City Council of Lalín and is a favourable field for private collaboration’, he points out.

He explains that ‘we intend to achieve maximum business collaboration in an activity of general interest such as the Cocido Fair, an event that boosts the productive sectors of Lalín and the region: thus, in exchange for a subsidy offered by the collaborators to carry out the development of the Mes del Cocido de Lalín, the City Council undertakes to disseminate the presence as a collaborating entity of the same, in all events organized during the Mes del Cocido and that are related to it’.

In this sense, it specifies that ‘in this way, the City Council undertakes to publicise the participation and collaboration of the selected companies by publicising their presence on the posters, specifically in the Cocido Fair's fold-out programme and in the Cocido Month leaflets’. Likewise, the City Council will award a badge as a collaborating entity with the quality commitment of the ‘Mes del Cocido’ to all the businessmen who collaborate in it’, he underlines.

As for the number of spaces allocated for collaboration, the municipal official emphasises that ‘a maximum of 100 spaces are established for collaborators, which will be inserted in the aforementioned posters, through a nominal list of the collaborating entities’.

The minimum subsidy will be 100 euros, with the possibility of offering a higher subsidy, always starting at 100 euros. In the event that not all the spaces are covered, the surplus will be redistributed among the existing collaborators. The City Council also reserves the right to include in the aforementioned supports the presence of those institutional collaborators (public bodies, organisations or administrations) with which the City Council has entered into agreements on the subject. The collaborating companies will be selected through an open process, in which all interested companies will be able to present a single collaboration proposal.

Proposals must be submitted to the General Register of the City Council until 30 December at 10 am. Each entrepreneur may not submit more than one proposal. Infringement will result in the non-acceptance of all the proposals submitted by him/her. There is only one criterion for the selection of collaborators: the best subsidy offered.

The documentation must be submitted in a sealed envelope. The terms and conditions are available on the City Council's website and at the City Council's Registry Office.

Once the deadline for the presentation of the administrative documentation has expired, the Evaluation Commission will examine the documentation provided, and if it is necessary to correct any defect or omission of documentation, it will give a period of no more than 3 working days for the applicants to correct or amend it. Once the documentation has been qualified, the list of selected collaborators will be drawn up in descending order, excluding those who do not present complete documentation or those who do not comply with the rules.

The Valuation Commission will submit the definitive list of admitted and excluded collaborators to the competent body for approval. Once approved, it will be published in the contracting profile of the City Council of Lalín and/or on the municipal website and on the notice board of the City Council and the selected collaborators will be notified so that they can proceed to sign the corresponding collaboration agreement.

The collaborators will sign the corresponding administrative collaboration agreement for the advertising of the 57th edition of the Feria del Cocido within a maximum period of 10 working days from the day following notification of their status as collaborators with a commitment to the quality of the Mes del Cocido.

The XXVII Mes del Cocido will take place between 15 January and 14 February (2025) and with this action in terms of collaboration, the aim is to achieve and maintain minimum quality standards in the development of the cocido, also encouraging the commitment to participation of companies: restaurants, butchers, sausage factories, cheese, honey, sweets, bread, liqueurs, etc.
