CRESPO MEETS WITH HOTELIERS OF THE “COCIDO MONTH" TO PREPARE EVERYTHING RELATED TO NEXT YEAR'S “FEIRA DO COCIDO”

In addition to the usual presence at Fitur, where the Fair will be presented within the stand of Tourism of Galicia under the geographic destination "Deza-Tabeirós", the Fair will have again in this edition with the Gala de Gastronomía de Galicia broadcast by TVG from the Lalín Arena. Next year it is planned to hold a presentation abroad, for which external funding is already available to the City Council.

The mayor of Lalín, José Crespo Iglesias, and the councilman of Tourism, Avelino Souto, held on Thursday afternoon a meeting with a score of innkeepers of Lalín to advance everything related to the next edition of the "Feira do Cocido", to be held on February 23. A meeting that was used to address issues relating to the operation of the hospitality industry and the developments that will occur in the face of next year. The mayor of Tourism, who holds the competence by the maternity leave of the colleague Begoña Blanco, began the meeting by presenting the design of the Cocido pin of this edition, made by the poster designer of the Fair, which by its configuration will be cheaper for the innkeepers than those of the previous edition, having fewer colors. A pin that will be presented as soon as the first units are made and that will begin to distribute to the innkeepers next January 15 coinciding with the beginning of the Month of Cocido. Precisely, coinciding with the days before that date, also will go out to the street the porquiños of the Cocido that will be placed in those restaurants that request it and until exhausting the number of them available.

GALA OF GASTRONOMY

Souto made a report of all the activities in which it is working and programming to carry them out. In addition to the usual presence in Fitur, where the Fair will be presented within the stand of Tourism of Galicia under the geodestino Deza and Tabeirós, the Fair will have again in this edition with the Gala of Gastronomy of Galicia that broadcasts TVG from the Lalín Arena and that in the last years gained an important encouragement by the presence of young artists and of much actuality that propitiated the presence of numerous public and crowded this sports facility. A calendar for the months of January, February, March, April and May that will fill the town with activities and will place Lalín as a meeting point for visitors from all over Galicia. The mayor of Lalín, in his speech, said that next year it is planned to hold a presentation, for which already has external funding to the City Council, abroad. A presentation that could be held in one of the countries of Central Europe and that would continue the work of international dissemination that is done on a regular basis Cocido. For this event, which is being worked on, and which would be held in the weeks prior to the Fair, the mayor asked the innkeepers present, about twenty, some volunteer to be in charge of the preparation of the traditional dish from Lalin for a celebration in which a considerable number of people would participate.

POSSIBILITIES THAT OPEN UP WITH HUTTOPIA

Finally, the alderman explained to those present the Huttopia project that will be launched throughout the year 2025 and that will lead to an increase in the number of visitors and overnight stays in Lalín, joining the potential customers in Lalín, a good number of people from Europe and North America, where a good number of customers of the multinational of the “glamping” is located.
