The awards, which were decided on Monday, will be presented on Friday 30 January at the Cocido Gala to be held at the Lalín Arena and broadcast on TVG.
The mayor of Lalín, José Crespo, chaired the jury meeting for the 32nd edition of the Galicia Gastronomy Awards. The jury was made up of:
Begoña Blanco Blanco, Councillor for Tourism in Lalín.
José Paz Gestoso, Director of the Galicia Higher Hospitality Centre (CSHG).
Manuel García, from the A Costiña Restaurant, representing the Nove Group.
Javier Outomuro Castro, from the A Taberna Restaurant, representing Amigos da Cociña Galega
José Luis Iglesias González, from the Cabanas Restaurant, as a member of Eurotoques, Xantares, Lareira and Amigos da Cociña Galega
Cecilia Sanmartín Soto, representing the Local Hospitality Industry Stew Commission
and César López Arribas, general secretary of the City Council, who acted as secretary of the jury
The jury decided to award the following prizes, all unanimously agreed upon by its members:
Firstly, the ‘Pepe Solla’ Award for a lifetime's work dedicated to gastronomy went to Restaurant ‘A de Rosa’, in A Pobra do Caramiñal (A Coruña).
In the category of ‘Award for the professional who has most distinguished himself in the promotion of Galician cuisine’, the award went to the ‘Terra’ restaurant in Fisterra (A Coruña).
The jury awarded the prize for the company or entity that contributed most to the promotion of Galician gastronomy and Galician gastronomic products to Discarlux S.L.
The jury also awarded the prize for small Galician producers to the company Cortes de Muar, from Negreiros (Silleda).
Finally, in the category of ‘Award to the winery or wine-producing company/enterprise’, the award went to ‘Forjas de él Salnés’ from Meaño (Pontevedra).
The Galician Gastronomy Awards will be presented alongside the 32nd Álvaro Cunqueiro National Gastronomic Journalism Award at the Cocido Gala on Friday 30 January, which will be held at the Lalín Arena and broadcast on TVG.
