The mayor of Lalín and Grand Commander of the Order of the Encomenda do Cocido, José Crespo, announced that Lalín businessman Ramiro Mejuto will be one of the commanders, alongside Irene Villa and town crier Diego González Rivas, who will be ordained with the cape of defender of cocido. This is in recognition of ‘the long and distinguished business career that this Lalín businessman has enjoyed over several decades at the helm of Megodeza, a leading company in its sector’. It is thus a recognition of ‘his entrepreneurial spirit and innovative work in a sector as competitive as industrial refrigeration’. Crespo recalled that Ramiro Mejuto already received the Lalín Man of the Year award in 2011.

Ramiro Mejuto Pumar, a Lalín businessman and manager of Megodeza, has a professional career spanning more than three decades linked to industrial innovation and technological development. He began his business activity in the mid-1980s with a small workshop in Lalín, from which he laid the foundations for a project that grew steadily to become a benchmark in the field of industrial refrigeration, technical air conditioning and customised refrigeration solutions.
In 1992, he founded Megodeza S.L., a company he has managed ever since and which has grown from a very small structure to several industrial facilities in the municipality of Lalín, with a presence in national and international projects.
