ARTISTS WISHING TO PARTICIPATE IN EMPORCARTE-LALÍN 2026 MUST SUBMIT THEIR PROPOSALS TO THE MUSEUM BETWEEN 10 JANUARY AND 10 FEBRUARY.

The collective exhibition combining contemporary art and Feira do Cocido will open on 14 February, Carnival Saturday, when the traditional cocido meal will be held for artists who wish to attend, at a cost of €35 per person.

Emporcarte will be on display until 18 April, coinciding with ‘Antón Sobral: o silencio do mar’ (Antón Sobral: the silence of the sea), the main exhibition of the 58th Feira do Cocido, which opens on 16 January and runs until 28 March.

The Councillor for Culture, Begoña Blanco, has announced that, as part of the 58th Feira do Cocido celebrations, a new edition of the EmporcARTE collective exhibition will be held between 14th February and 18th April at the Ramón Mª Aller Municipal Museum, alongside the main exhibition of the Cocido, "Antón Sobral: o silencio do mar" (Antón Sobral: the silence of the sea), by the renowned multidisciplinary artist Antón Sobral, which opens on 16 January at 8 pm and can be seen until 28 March, curated by Antón Castro.

Blanco points out that the rules for the 14th edition of EmporcARTE, an exhibition that combines contemporary art and the Feira del Cocido, have recently been approved. The call for entries is open to both professional and emerging artists, individually or collectively, and seeks to give visibility to plastic creation around one of the most emblematic events in our arts.

According to the rules approved by the local government, each participant over the age of 18 may submit a maximum of two works in disciplines such as painting, sculpture, artistic photography, installation, digital art, illustration, textile art or mixed media.

The theme must be related to the Feira do Cocido, understood in a broad and creative way. There is no limit on origin, although a connection with Lalín and the Deza area will be valued. Entries, which must be original, unpublished or previously exhibited without any problems for participation, must be sent between 10 January and 10 February 2026 to the Lalín Municipal Museum at museo@lalin.gal. The selected works will be exhibited at EmporcARTE-Lalín 2026, which will open on 14th February.

On the day of the opening ceremony, Carnival Saturday, there will be a traditional lunch for artists who wish to attend, where they will be able to sample a Cocido de Lalín. Participating artists should indicate whether they are interested in attending the lunch, which will cost €35 per person.

It should be noted that participation in EmporcARTE is unpaid, but includes a certificate, promotion on municipal channels and inclusion in the exhibition's digital catalogue. The full terms and conditions of the call for entries will be available on the Lalín Town Council website.
